“Metamorphosis” op.68 –
My first idea was to write simply a concert study. But in the making of my suggestions and inspirations, the flows of ideas that came to my mind were so many-sided and abrupt that they led me to different paths, as if I only had to grasp something that had already been written. So I conceived the architecture of a sonata. Rich in evocative contrasts and swinging emotional states, I gave this composition a bolder harmonic structure, signalling a metamorphosis in my musical language. The final outcome of this piece is astounding for its greatly difficult rendition and its effective and colourful piano writing.
